We ship our pieces in packaging designed to be kept.

The crate becomes a side table. The cover becomes a laundry bag. The boards become trivets and bookends. The manual becomes a herb garden. The jars become pantry storage. The hangtag becomes a bookmark. The shims become garden markers.

Eight pieces of packaging. Eight household objects. Nothing for the bin.

The standard

Nothing about an IDÉE delivery is meant to be thrown away.

This is not a sustainability claim. It is a design constraint. Every component is designed twice — once for shipping, once for serving.

Every element with two jobs

01 — Crate · Pine

Outer shipping crate becomes a low side table. Reclaimed Damietta pine, brass screws, pre-waxed interior. Slats, base, and corner blocks are already dimensioned. Twelve screws, fifteen minutes.

02 — Linen Bag · Dust cover

Upholstered piece sleeve becomes a laundry bag. Hand-stitched Egyptian linen, wordmark stamped. Sized for one full load of laundry — groceries, or the beach. Built to outlast the chair.

03 — Protection Board · Olive wood

Wood protection pad becomes a kitchen trivet. Heavy tables ship with a solid olive-wood board underneath. Dimensioned and oiled. Serving board or trivet the day it comes out of the box.

04 — Corner Block · Wood

Corner protection blocks become a pair of bookends. Solid wood corner protectors, sized, finished, drilled to be bookend-ready. Pre-weighted. Stencilled into the face that shows when they're in use.

05 — Seed-Paper Manual · Care

Printed care manual becomes a herb garden. Handmade seed paper with basil, za'atar, or mint seeds. Tear into strips, bury shallow, water. The guide becomes something you tend.

06 — Glass Jars · Hardware

Assembly parts carrier becomes pantry storage. Six matching glass jars hold assembly hardware, oil, wax. Same jars, same shape, same labels — six months later, coffee, pasta, spices.

07 — Hangtag · Cotton paper

Product hangtag becomes a bookmark. 100% cotton paper, embossed with the piece's serial number. Long-axis cut, woven ribbon threaded through the top eyelet. A memento of purchase, still in use.

08 — Cedar Shims · Balancing

Balancing shims become garden plant markers. Aromatic cedar, pre-stamped with blank fields for variety and date. Repels some pests as a second job. Weathers silver but stays legible for years.
